Membership & Dues
According to the Club By-Laws, annual dues are collected from the 1st of October until the January meeting for the coming year. This year dues have remained at the same level as last year for members, with discounts for family members, students, seniors, and life members.
A fillable Membership Application/Renewal form is available by clicking on the link and selecting the printer graphic at the top of the page that pops up Application Link. Fill out the form and bring it and your dues to the meeting in January, or mail the form and a check made out to The Onslow Amateur Radio Club, Inc. to the address listed at the top of the form.
Be sure to indicate whether or not you are a member of the ARRL. As long as the club membership is greater than 50% members of the ARRL, we can remain an ARRL affiliated club with the privileges that go along with it.
Current List of Members
The Onslow Amateur Radio Club updates our membership roster periodically during each year. Members are encouraged to view the roster and pay their annual dues in a timely manner. Click the following link to view the roster: Club Membership Roster
Testing & Licensing
Prior to testing you must go to fcc.gov and obtain a FRN number. This is used instead of your social security number. Bring to the test session your FRN number, two forms of ID and $15 cash (preferably exact change). The test is generated through the ARRL. After the test the material is sent to the ARRL electronically and you should have your new call sign, or upgrade, within 3-4 business days. You will either get an email from the FCC, or you can go directly to their site, in order to pay the $35 fee.
