We now have an email list that is open to all OnslowARC club members. It enables club members to discuss topics related to amateur radio. Members can also search through the archives to find discussions they may have missed or forgotten. To join the list, just:
1 – Point your browser to groups.io
2 – Select “Find or Create a Group”.
3 – In the Search field at the top right, enter “OnslowARC”. (case does not matter)
4 – Your search results should include our group. Click on the group name.
5 – Select “Apply for Membership In This Group”.

Good morning. I live in Hubert and am looking for a place/person that can help me with an issue. I need to have the display screen on my FT-897. The screen is unreadable. Any help would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

Hey Stan. I have an FT-857, and have had no troubles with the screen. I useit as a mobile unit, but the display is not in the direct sunlight. The 857 head can be used with an accessory cable kit away from the main radio.
You will likely have to contct Yaesu about a possible replacement screen. Or, if you Google Yaesu repair in North Carolina, you should find a Yaesu repair location in New Bern.
They might be able to help you. If not they will refer you to the dealer site
