At our July 11, 2026, OARC meeting, we were delighted to welcome North Carolina Senator Michael Lazzara as our special guest.
Senator Lazzara was instrumental in securing $25,000 in funding from the North Carolina General Assembly for the purchase of an emergency communications trailer for our club.
The emergency communications trailer will provide a self-contained, rapidly deployable hub for establishing mission-critical voice, video, and data communications. This valuable resource will allow the club to maintain emergency communications when primary infrastructure fails or when communications are needed in remote or underserved areas.
Senator Lazzara, a Jacksonville resident, is also a licensed amateur radio operator with the call sign KF4RRE. We greatly appreciate his support of OARC and his commitment to strengthening emergency communications capabilities in our community.
